How many FICON paths do I need?
Depends on ESCON path busy, ESCON path “dead” time, and read/write ratio
Start with the 1:1 swap-out scenario (replace ESCON paths with same number of FICON paths)
Determine FICON path busy for each path in the 1:1 swap-out scenario
Apply QT model to the 1:1 scenario, remove one path at a time, as long as QT model shows minimal response elongation
