ESCON path dead time
The difference between actual connect time and data transfer time
Figure transfer time by adding up all bytes transferred (block size x block count), then divide by effective data rate (17 MB/s)
Subtract transfer time from channel connect time (%busy x RMF interval length) give dead time
“Safe” to assume NO dead time
Assumption gives worst-case scenario (maybe too busy FICON channels, too many channels, but at least enough)
